Trendyol Süper Lig Analysis

Alanyaspor led the corner count 9–3 against Göztepe, with four before half-time and five after it. That was sustained restart production rather than one isolated burst. The 4–0 corner advantage at Gaziantep relied on a different balance: Alanyaspor’s own total was modest, but Gaziantep took none despite 61% possession and 13 shots. Both created a clear margin, yet only the Göztepe match required Alanyaspor to generate a large number themselves.

Against Beşiktaş, seven Alanyaspor corners were matched by seven from the visitors. At Rizespor, another seven were beaten by eight. A similar own contribution therefore moved from a comfortable advantage against Göztepe to a tie or deficit when the opponent supplied more restarts. The 2–1 corner edge at Eyüpspor and 3–3 tie at Çorum were low-volume comparisons rather than evidence of strong territorial dominance. For the next fixture, assess the opposing supply alongside Alanyaspor’s pressure. A reasonable Alanyaspor count may be enough against a team taking very few corners, but seven did not establish an advantage against either Beşiktaş or Rizespor.

Alanyaspor’s matches with Beşiktaş, Rizespor and Göztepe produced 14, 15 and 12 corners, but the contributors differed. Beşiktaş and Rizespor supplied seven and eight alongside Alanyaspor’s seven, creating genuinely shared restart totals. Against Göztepe, Alanyaspor supplied nine of the 12, so their own sustained pressure carried most of the count. A high total can therefore come from both sides contributing or from Alanyaspor producing an unusually large share.

The Gaziantep, Eyüpspor and Çorum matches finished with only four, three and six corners. Gaziantep took none despite creating 1.28 xG and having 61% possession, while the three-goal Eyüpspor match had only three corners. Goals and possession therefore did not supply the missing restarts. At Çorum, the teams shared six evenly, showing that balanced contributions can still be too small to create a high total. For the next fixture, identify a plausible source of enough corners: either repeated pressure from both teams, as against Beşiktaş and Rizespor, or a large Alanyaspor contribution like the Göztepe match. An expectation of goals or an even contest is not enough on its own.
